Here the two parts have had their runners ground off and are sitting as they would be when they were doing whatever is they do. Remember, I bought the pattern at a used tool shop and I have no idea at all what the parts are for.
The two small tits sticking up from the ears are from where Sharon used the stiff wire to poke small vents through the greensand to allow air to escape and to permit the molten aluminum to better fill the cavity.
