The mold is carefully assembled and left to await pouring. One of the alignment pins can be seen near Sharon's left hand. The pins are important as they permit the two sides of the mold to be precisely aligned.  When the pattern is being made a similar effort must be maintained to keep the pattern parts in correct alignment.  Accuracy must be maintained throughout the entire process, from first cut on the patterns to final pouring or the result will not be acceptable parts.
