On the previous ram up the male side of the pattern was the drag.  On this one Sharon decided to make the male side the cope.  I was surprised to learn that , at least with this pattern, it didn't make much difference which was which.  We can tell that this will be cope (top) of the mold because we see the sprue and vents standing in place waiting to be packed with greensand. 

In plastics molding the terms used are core and cavity of the mold. The core being the positive (male) side and the cavity is the negative (female) side.

In my previous work with plastics and single cavity molds I made one part at a time,  it came a surprise that with one pattern board and a bunch of flasks one could rammed up many molds and pour them all at once.
