This is the coolest part! Carbon dioxide gas is passed through the core box for a short time. I would guess that how long (this one didn't take but about a minute, maybe less) depends of the size, complexity and so on of the core being done. Again experience is the key. The greensand from the molds is used again and again but the waterglass is a one time use product. Fortunately because is a completely natural product (sand, sodium silicate and CO2 ) there is no problem disposing of the used cores.
