Welcome to our visit to the Watervliet Arsenal Museum

The Arsenal, which has been making cannons for the U.S. Army since the  War of 1812 has a marvelous museum which traces the history of arms.

We hope that you enjoy these pages and will be inspired to visit the museum at some time.  The Arsenal is located a few miles north of Albany, New York.

These enormous Naval rifles are located outside the museum building.  The museum building its' self is wonderful example of cast iron building technique.  The walls and most all structural members except the roof are of this versatile material and represent a style of architecture of a by gone time.
