While at the CNC-Workshop we made a side trip to the Rock Island Arsenal. The newspapers were full of the same thing that we have been hearing at home. The BRAC (Base Re-alignment and Closure Commission) has targeted the Arsenal for closure and the locals are fighting tooth and nail to avoid that. At home (eastern Connecticut) BRAC is threatening to close the U.S. Nave Submarine Base in Groton Connecticut. We live about 15 miles north of the base and closure would profoundly affect the entire region.
Well enough of that. On to the Museum.
