Oil and Gas Museum

Parkersburg, West Virginia

On our way to Toledo for NAMES 2006 we traveled through West Virginia.  At the tourist information shop when crossing into the state we found a brochure advertising this museum which is located in Parkersburg WV.  Sounded interesting so we went looking for it.  Well worth the visit!  The museum presents the history of oil and gas production in West Virginia with a large collection of memrobilia relating to the industry.

Also in Parkersburg is an amazing used (and new) book store housed in one of the many public library buildings built by Carnegie.  the building has the most beautiful spiral staircase and is a gem of architecture.
