This is the Molt Taylor Air Car. I believe it is the only convertible automobile/airplane ever certificated by the FAA.
A number of years back I was having breakfast at Field's Family Restaurant at the corner of Knapp and 9th Street in Oshkosh. The place was very busy and I told the hostess that if someone wanted to share my table they would be welcome. A short time later she seated two older gentlemen with me and one of the turned out to Mr. Taylor himself. We had a marvelous conversation and went our separate ways. A few years after that Mr. Taylor passed away. That breakfast was a real treat for me I can tell you!
