CNC - Workshop

Galesburg, Illinois  June 20 - 25 2005

Hosted by Cardinal Engineering

Out in the warehouse folks were hard at it on Monday the 20th when I arrived from Connecticut.  The goal was to get this machine (sorry I don't recall make and model) running under EMC control before the end of the week.  They had is moving but when I left on Friday evening I don't think it was up and running.

EMC stands for Enhanced Machine Controller.  More info can be found at http://www.linuxcnc.org/

EMC (the Enhanced Machine Control) is a software system for computer control of machine tools such as milling machines. EMC is free software with open source code.

It provides a user interface, an interpreter for "G-code" (the RS-274 machine tool programming language), and operates the actual electronic interfaces that control the motor drives on the machine tool.
