Warther Carvings

Carving was Mr. Warther's hobby.  He made his living by manufacturing cutlery.  He was self taught at knife making but did such a good job of it that when his mother bragged to her friends about the fine kitchen knifes the have made her they wanted ones of their own.  One thing lead to another and he found him in the knife making business.  During WWII some of these same mothers whose sons had been called to service asked him if he could make combat knives for their sons.  Below are pictured two of the knifes he made for soldiers.  After the was however he declared that he would never make an instrument meant to harm another human being.  And he never did.  As an armature student of history I once again take a moment to thank all those who have served our country.  God bless you all.
