Greenfield Village
This tool box belonged to the Wright's mechanic, Charles Taylor. He was, of course, the first airplane mechanic and in his honor the Federal Aviation Administration gives an award to long time members of the aviation mechanics profession. To qualify for the award a person must have been involved in the trade for a minimum of fifty years. I was privileged to know such a person, for that matter two such people. Bill Simmons, long time instructor in the Aviation Mechanics Department at the school where I teach Machine Shop and Ed Reeves a mechanic at Waterford (Connecticut) Airport, where I spent much of my misspent youth.
