These are shop made tools which are used when something breaks far underground. The appropriate tool is threaded onto the end of the pipe string and dropped into the hole. The business end is simply cast lead. It impacts the broken whatever and is withdrawn. They are then able to get an idea of what sort of tool it will be necessary to make to clear the blockage.
