In addition to our speaker, Bruce Murray, we were treated to a demonstration of t he Charles River Museum of Industry's tack making machine. Although the machine has been on display for many years it was only recently, when a visitor asked if it worked, did anyone try it out. Sure enough it still makes tacks after all these years. Pretty tough to take photos though with a crowd of interested model engineers gathered around!
